Paste a setlist from the band

Paste the WhatsApp or email set into the setlist editor, preview each line as a Metronome or a library track, then add the running order and hit Perform.

Published 16 September 2026

Someone in the band sends the set on WhatsApp or in an email. You do not have to type it in song by song. Paste the list into the setlist editor, check the rows, then add them.

When the set arrives as a list

Use this when the running order arrives as text: a message, an email, a note from rehearsal. It builds a set from titles, with tempos and notes if they are there. If you already have a folder of numbered tracks, import the folder instead. That still makes the setlist from the files.

Open Paste setlist

Open the setlist you want to fill. Tap Paste setlist. A sheet labelled PASTE SETLIST opens. Put one song on each line, then tap Preview.

What a line can look like

A title on its own is enough. Tempo, time signature, length in bars and a stage note are picked out when they are present.

Opening Night 120
Wires - 132bpm - 4/4 - 48 bars
Slow Burn (72bpm 6/8) [half time, no fills]
Heavy Weather

A number that belongs to the title stays in the title. Summer of 69 is still Summer of 69; 69 is not read as a tempo. Anything in [brackets] is a note, not a place to hide a BPM.

What Preview shows

Preview opens REVIEW SETLIST. Each line becomes an editable row.

If a line has no tempo, the row assumes 120 BPM and marks it as assumed, so you can change it before you add. That song becomes a Metronome song, the same as adding one by hand for a number the band plays live.

If the title matches a song already in the library, after trimming spaces and ignoring case, the row can link that track instead of making a new Metronome song. The match has to be exact. It is never fuzzy. One paste can mix library tracks and new Metronome songs.

If two library songs share the title, or the pasted tempo, time signature or length disagrees with the library song, you choose: link the existing track, or create a new Metronome song. Linking never edits the library song.

The same title twice stays two entries. The setlist keeps the repeats.

A row with invalid metadata is blocked, with an explanation. The app does not silently clamp it. BPM needs to sit roughly between 20 and 400; time signature and length are checked the same way.

When the rows look right, tap Add. The control says how many you are adding.

The free version

New songs count toward the six-song limit. The app checks there is room before it commits the paste.

Then Perform

The songs are in the running order. Any slot can carry its own note, its own tempo and a gap before auto-advance, with a countdown on the stage. The library song stays as it is. Share the running order back to the band as text or a printable PDF. Then tap Perform and hit a pad, the same as any other set.
