What's new

What changed in the app, newest first.

1.5

  • Beat lamps on the pad stage: when a set has a click track, the display panel keeps the Metronome lamps for the whole set, so the pads stay still between songs. A backing track gets a taller waveform.
  • Practise one song from the library with the green play button on each row. A click track asks whether to open in the Metronome view or on the pads. The Edit button opens the song record.
  • Pedal keys act on key-down only, so a held or bouncing pedal no longer flicks play and pause or skips songs.
  • The stage is lighter: it no longer rebuilds the screen many times a second or writes to the database while it is up. Dim Flashing Lights and Reduce Motion now cover the cue light and the beat lamps.
  • Sheets with unsaved work, such as Paste setlist or a new click track, ask before they close.
  • Better VoiceOver support and larger text sizes across the stage, library, setlists and Settings. Restore shows progress and errors.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: ⌘N for a new setlist, ⌘, for Settings.

1.4

  • Bands: file songs and setlists under a band. Pick one at the top of the sidebar and the library narrows to it. Each band has its own click level and click defaults. Bands are in the free version.
  • Live tempo on click tracks: nudge the tempo by 1 BPM while the click plays, and the change lands on the same bar and beat. Time signature, subdivision, sound and count-in still need a stop. Backing tracks play as recorded.
  • Cover art comes back with Look up song from Apple Music and is stored on the iPad, so the stage never needs a signal to show it.
  • With the pad lock on, Next and Previous cannot end a playing song. That includes a page-turner pedal.
  • If outputs go missing, click and track fall back to outputs 1 and 2 instead of going silent, and the stage tells you.
  • In a setlist, any slot can carry its own note, its own tempo and a gap before auto-advance, with a countdown on the stage. The library song stays as it is.
  • Share the running order as text or a printable PDF for the band.
  • Library: sort, filter, select several songs at once, skip duplicates on import, and point a missing song at its audio again.
  • Back up the library to a plain folder and restore it without overwriting anything.

1.3

  • Long-press any song in the library to open it on the stage alone, armed and ready. Nothing plays until you hit Play. A normal tap still opens the song record.
  • Unlock on the Metronome is a two-position slider. A tap will not flip it mid-take. Play locks it again.
  • The tempo wheel sits recessed on a rack plate. The lamps sit in their own well.
  • While the click runs, a scan line sweeps the lamps. That motion respects Reduce Motion and Pulse.
  • Fixed Pulse beat-movement when Reduce Motion was off.

1.2

  • Full-screen Metronome without building a setlist. It does not use a free-tier song slot.
  • The stage starts LOCKED so a stick cannot retune the click. Play locks it again after unlock.
  • Beat lamps, meter, subdivision, sound, count-in and ending are on the stage.
  • Tempo still waits for stop. Live tempo while playing remains deferred.
  • Optional Apple Music lookup for a title, artist and tempo when you tap Look up song. It stays off until you ask.

1.1

  • Metronome performance view for the live click numbers on stage.
  • Paste a setlist in from the band.
  • A clearer home screen for pads and Metronome jobs.
